Willow park here we come!!

In the holiday’s the riverside club went on a holiday camp to Willow Park, the first thing we did when we got there was to sort out our team group’s ,then unload all our bags. Waiting excitingly to see our team rooms, we had to have a team meeting with our group to make up our team names. After our team meeting we took all our bags up stairs to our rooms. The boy’s room’s were up stairs but on the left and the girl’s room were on the right.

Anxiously waiting to have lunch, Mr Burt said that we could have free time. Then Te Rina and I
went for a quit walk around the huge field. After a while Mr Burt Beeped the hooter then he called us to come in to the Rimu room and sit down in our group lines, then the group that sits up perfectly they get to go for lunch first. After having our yummy lunch all the groups had a
challenge to do, it was kind of like treasure hunt.

Lastly, who ever comes first they get to get points. Then who ever comes last they get no points, well my team came 2nd so we got 30 points. After all that we were all exhausted from all that running and finding all of those stuff. But at least we all had fun and enjoyed it.

Anxiously waiting for the fireworks to exploded, it was really nerve racking but before the fireworks there was a huge ceremony for the starting of the rugby world cup.My favorite part was when a little boy Imagining that he was a famous rugby player. While he was running he was tackling these boys, then at the end he saw Jonah Lomu. Then waiting for the exciting moment the fireworks, all you can hear and see is the fireworks exploding and sparkling on the sky tower,it looked like the sky tower was falling.The opening ceremony was very Beautiful, I really loved it how they designed it and how they designed the costumes it really stands out. This is the second time New Zealand has hosted the rugby world cup,I am really proud of my home country New Zealand. It was a very eye catching because how they organized it.I hope that the All Blacks win the world cup this year, The All Blacks Is my first favourite team then it’s Tonga they are my culture team.

Anxiously waiting in a line to go in the Life Education caravan, Lynn told us to line up from biggest to smallest, After a minute Lynn led the line into the caravan we all sat down. When we sat down we started talking to Harold he asked us if we can help him with his homework then Lynn said to him “ok” we will do number 1-3 and you do number 4 so that it can be fare. One of the homeworks we did was learning about body parts and other stuff. The last homework we did for Harold was about sorting the food.

On Tuesday after lunch room 16 and Point England School had the opportunity to be on One News. I was so amazed when they came in our Classroom! They were here to talk about why we have Netbooks and other schools don't because One News is pushing the Government to let all schools to have Netbooks to make it fair. Some schools don't have any Netbook because they can’t pay their fees. I was really excited because it was on the news but I didn’t watch the news because I was at netball.

New Zealand is a small country that can be found in the Pacific Ocean. New Zealand was one of the last largest landmasses settled by humans. New Zealand was first settled by eastern Polynesians between1250 and 1300. Most of New Zealand’s population is of European descent. Maori is the largest minority followed by Asians and non-Maori Polynesians. The New Zealand Flag was sewn by an Australian person and voted on by 25 Maori chiefs from the far north. In 1840 the Treaty of Waitangi was signed between the British crown and various Maori chiefs, bringing New Zealand into the British Empire and giving Maori equal rights with British citizens.

The capital city of New Zealand is Wellington. In New Zealand people have different languages including, English,Te Reo Maori and New Zealand Sign Language. It also has three main Islands named, South Island, North Island and Stewart Island. It also has the Chatham Islands connected.

Our MOTAT Trip

Guess what? Rooms 15, 16 and 17 went to MOTAT. My favourite highlight was the Tactile Dome because it was really dark and Mary, Dante and I were working together. When we got up to the slide Mary slid down first then Dante and I slid down together. That was my first favourite part. One of the funniest parts was when we were all anxiously waiting for everyone to have their turn Jay'Lee and I were sitting on the chairs listening to Andrea screaming through the speakers. It was funny because everyone could hear her. When everyone had a turn we had to go in our groups and explore the place. We first went to the video games and then into the game exhibit which had games like twister. Then we went to the play ground and played on it and had lots of fun. Our last activity was when we went to the challenge zone. Once we had finished we all went to line up so that we could get ready to go back to school.

Immersion assembly

On the first day of term 2 we had our exciting immersion assembly. We found out that this term we are studying Bigger, Better, Stronger, Faster. As soon we all sat down we heard a weird sound that sounded like somebody breathing. It was Mr Burt. He was dressed as Darth Vader. We had our immersion assembly in the hall with all of the teachers dressed in funny costumes and some were not because they were doing a play.

My favourite team was team 3 because of Miss Lavakula’s rap. She was awesome! My favourite part is when they were spraying the water around the hall and most people had gotten wet. I hope Pt England had a great time because I had a good time.

My Favourite Netball Player

Do you have a favourite netball player?? Well my favourite netball player is Maria Tutaia. Maria was born in February 1987 in Tokoroa New Zealand, she can play at goal attack and goal shooter. Maria Tutaia has played domestic netball for the Auckland Diamonds during the national bank club from 2005-07.

Maria was part of the winning NZ under 21 team that brought home the 2005 world youth cup from Miami. That year, Maria was named in the Silver Ferns team. She has won gold medals at the 2010 commonwealth games, 2006 commonwealth games and 2009 netball series.

It aIt all happened at church, that day it was raining and slippery on the floor,it was wet all over the floor. Me and My friends named Mita and Mele were tring to dance and do the spongbob. I told my friends to do the spongebob first so my friend Mele did it but she couldn't do it. Next it was Mita’s turn to do it, I was shocked that she could do it.

Nervously waiting for my turn I did it, but guess what I slipped and did the splits and fell down. My friends were laughing at me and saying if I was alright at the same time. So I stood up and they were still laughing at me, I didn’t care.So I stood up again.

Camp

On Wednesday last week the year five and six had there camp, and the year sevens and eight finished there camp on that day. I was really excited because we were just starting our camp. We were waiting for people to arrive to school. When we were waiting I put on allot of sunblock because it was really sunny outside.

Anxiously waiting in a line for the bus to come we were yelling and screaming as well as being hypo so that the bus can come but it did not so we had to wait for about a minute. While we were waiting we were getting ready to go to Swimarama in Panmure,as soon the bus came we all got in the bus, we tried to fit every body into the bus.

When we got there we all got in our group lines ready to go in. First Mrs Garden said to the people that were in the swimming race to go and get changed. We were all waiting for them to finish there race. When they were all finished it was time for all of us to swim. I didn’t want to go in the pool because it will be so cold but lucky the sun was shining onto my face, so I decided to go in the pool.

Next it was my group to go on the hydro-slide we all got three turns and then we went to the pool we were playing tigey in the pool is was fun because there were allot of people playing. Next I felt hungry so I went and ate my sandwich after that we went and got changed because it got cold. After getting changed we all got our stuff and went outside so that our bus can come on time. When the bus came we made sure that everybody were there then we went back to school.

Japan Earthquake

Guess what? An earthquake hit Japan on Friday the 11th of March. People are struggling to face the consequences of the earthquake and tsunami. The earthquake hit at 2.45 pm in the afternoon. Houses are damaged from the tsunami and earthquake.

Earthquake in Chrischurch

At At 12:50 a Earthquake struck Christchurch a lot of buildings were crashed. Many people were hurt by the quake Some were bleeding and others were still under rubbles. The cathedral was also damaged ,it was one of the famous buildings in Christchurch.

There was 65 people that died, there might be more people still to find under the buildings. Some people have know where to stay, some live at parks and in school halls. Others have been rushed to the hospital.

I saw some footage of some people crying but it is even sadder that some kids a trapped.I feel sad for the people that don’t have families.

One morning when I woke up I stood up and what I saw on the bed was a spider.Then I grabed it and Threw it away. So I looked into the mirror and what I saw on my right hand was a tiny red dot. When I went to school and I saw the same spider that was on my bed.It climbed on to my shoe and onto my pants I flicked it away and it went on another girl and she screamed.

Suddenly everybody had a fright and I realised they were all looking at me.Then I stomped out in a fright and ran away from home. As days came by I began to look like a super hero with a costume that said SPIDER WOMAN.

Eagerly waiting outside the pool, we all had to put on a life jacket. It was dump and clammy because it was wet. we all had to get a partner so we can help each other.

As soon as we all squeezed into the life jacket. Chris came to talk to us, Chris was a man who worked for water safety NZ. Chris came to try teach us to swim with a life jacket. On and how to swim in the water. He is here for the rest of the term.

When I first hopped in the pool my teeth were chattering. I herd a lot of screaming and squealing mostly from the girls. The first thing we all did was the help position I crossed my hands over my chest I crossed my legs and I lent back.We learnt the help position so it keeps us warm and it helps us conserves our energy.

After a while we all had to get in a huddle and sing the national anthem. Chris was gently pushing us around.While we were floating in a circular motion.

My Holiday

Early Thursday morning we got ready to leave for vacation in Tonga for two weeks holiday. The sun hadn’t come up yet so it was as cold as a freezer! We packed our bags and my auntie drove us to the airport. On plane ride over my ears popped because we were so high up in the atmosphere. When we landed in Tonga I felt the wheels hit the ground and I was filled with excitement! Even though I could see clouds through the side windows, I could tell that it was going to be a good day. One of my favourite things about Tonga was the shiploads of coconut they had that I could eat.The first day we went to the beach we woke up with the sun was shining through the window. It was going to be a sunny bright day, great weather for swimming.
We drove up to the Good Samaritan beach we jumped out of the car, ran down to the water and dived in! Surprisingly goosebumps covered my skin because the water was cold. When we got there we ate before we swam.When we were at Oholei I played in the sand and made drawings with a stick I found on the beach. While I was collecting shells my mum came over and said if I want to go into the Hina Cave. It was only me and my cousins who were swimming, my mum didn't want to swim yet. Then I came out of the water and I was digging and collecting shells too. While I was collecting shells my mum came over and said if I want to go into the Hina Cave.
The Hina cave is where they go and do the floor show. We went in and I tried blowing this shell We went in and I tried blowing this conch shell. I made my own beats on the drum. I asked the owners grandson what the drum was made of. He told me they took the cows skin off and stretched it over the wood of the drum.

Once we came back we had to go have showers to wash all the sand from our hair. When we got back I felt exhausted and was glad to be home.THE END

They were so huge and big that it was splashing and spraying the water into his face. “Ahhhhhh I never thought this would be so hard.” he cried. kong climbing wall. As we were walking around Dante wanted to go on the dinosaur wall. So she went and tried climbing it. While she was climbing she got up to the top and reached the head of the dinosaur.

Capture the Flag

On Friday afternoon Room 15 went to Room 14 to play Capture the Flag. First we had to listen attentively to Miss King when she precisely explained the rules. She divided us into teams then we all played.

We were all lined up waiting for Miss King to say "Go". We ran and I did not get tagged and I got in where the flag was. I gave the flag to Logan, he passed it to Starford and he ran as fast as he could to the other side of our field.

When it was the end of the game I felt exhausted and sweaty because I ran and passed the flag to Starford and he got us a try.
